revival of John Kander and Fred Ebb's 1968 musical
A concert-style staging of Kander & Ebb's 1968 musical The Happy Time. Based on a play by Samuel Taylor, the musical tells the story of a French-Canadian family. The son, Bibi, a teenager, is having troubles at school; while the uncle that Bibi idolizes, Jacques, a photographer, has returned home after a long time away. Songs include "A Certain Girl" and "The Happy Time." George S. Irving, who played Bibi's father in the original Broadway production, now plays the grandfather (a role originated by David Wayne)
