Spark Movement Collective is thrilled to present "Push to Play," the company's first full-length evening performance comprised of three premieres. The two-performance limited engagement will take place at 8 p.m. on April 13-14 at University Settlement's Speyer Hall (184 Eldridge St, Lower East Side).
Featuring eight local dancers with installments under direction of Chelsea Koenig, Artistic Director, and Matt Dittes, "Push to Play" explores the sociology of relationships and the zen of life around us. The piece also presents live performances by local musicians John-Flor Sisante and Kirsten Kairos.
"The pieces explore the many 'games' people experience in the world of dating," said Koenig. "The piece was influenced by conducting interviews with friends of Spark, weaving together the familiar and, at times, not-so-comfortable comedy of romance."
