“Environs” is an exploration through movement of different naturally occurring environments. The spaces are looked based on physical characteristics and metaphorical possiblities. Included with this powerful performance by seven dancers will be live accompaniment by violinist Hajnal Pivnick performing “Pupa” composed by Dorian Wallace and by cellist Astrid Schween performing excerpts from “Rhapsody” by Gordon Green. This concert will be Shelter’s debut performance in New York and will present choreography by artistic director Kim Neal Nofsinger.
