Joseph Samuel Wright

Joseph Samuel Wright is a producer/ playwright and the Founder and Producing Artistic Director of Roots and Wings Theatrical. Joseph studied theatre, creative writing, dance, and media arts at the University of Tennessee and also completed a course in mask work at the Central School in London. Wright's plays have been produced in NYC and regionally by Artistic New Directions, Roots and Wings, NyLon Fusion, the University of Tennessee, LSU, and Maryville College. His play Unbecoming was a finalist in the SteppingStone Millennium Competition and Mommy Drinkest was selected for the Outworks Festival.

He is a member of the NyLon Fusion Writer's Collective and is the Nest's Resident Playwright. Joseph sometimes assists author Iris Rainer Dart on projects like The People in the Picture and Beaches the Musical.
